Clinical
Leaves swirled above, growing larger with every second suspended in the air, finally drifting just out of view. Her eyelashes fluttered shut with anticipation of the leaves’ weightless kisses, but none came. Warm rays of sunlight stretched across her body, holding her gingerly like a mother cradles a new life. She opens her eyes, expecting the pale red sky will fill her field of view, but instead plastic tiles are suspended overhead.
The warmth fades and the cold breeze of the buzzing fan above rudely takes it's place. Her arms are curled against her chest on this hosiptal bed, her high is coming to a low. With a numb stare ahead, her brain sputters to life. Change is coming. Change is coming.
