Nowadays, technology  can be a good aid for people all over, but there are also negative effects it can bring upon people. Not only is technology bad for people, but phones can have a huge impact on children. The factors are cost, being easy to lose, prevents face to face socialization, and can be a barrier for academics. Children under a certain age should not be able to own a phone because the costly phones are easily lost

To start off, children having a phone doesn't just affect them negatively, but it also cost the parents a lot of money. Phone bills can cost seventy-one dollars on average, and there are also additional fees to add to the bill. Parents already have to pay for their phones, and there is no reason for a child in elementary school to own a phone. Also, children really do not know the value of money because they do not work, and they will really not appreciate the phone. Moreover, they will not respect their phone is by leaving it or forgetting about where they have placed it. Phones can be easily found, but people can reset them to where it can not be tracked any more. If the child is irresponsible, then they can easily place their phone somewhere and forget about it. Strangers can steal the phone, and the parents can lose a lot of money from this. Children should not have phones because they are really expensive, and children can be irresponsible and lose them.

Finally, another reason that kids in elementary school should not be able to have phones is because it prevents social activity, and this can be bad for children because this helps them gain socializing skills. Kids that have a phone will lose important skills like socializing, and this will give them problems when they are adults. They will have a hard time trying to get a job, or they will have trouble making friends in a workspace. They will unable to have stable relationships because they are too worried about their phone, and they will not pay attention to other people. Children will start to not do their schoolwork because they think their phone is more important than it. They will not do their homework, and this will cause them to not understand an important lesson in school. If they are not keeping up with all the lessons at school, than they will make low test score which will affect their future. Children should not have a phone because it can stunt their growth in their social life and their academics.

Moreover, People may say that giving a phone to their child will keep them quiet in public places, and it will make them seem happy as well. The child being quiet and happy may be a good thing, but there are harming side effects that can come out of this. First off, If the parent is not socializing with their kid, than they will not form a healthy relationship. Also, if a child is not sitting still or being quiet, a parent should correct them. Because of the parent not correcting the child, he or she will have disciplinarian problems in the future. Phones do not really make kids happy because they are a distraction, and kids feel happy in the presence of other people. Kids that have phones are most likely going to have family relationship problems, and they will not really be happy behind a screen.

All in all, Children having phones is a bad idea because there are too many risks involved like their academics, not getting enough exercise, phones are very expensive, and they are easy to lose. You should really not have to buy a younger child in elementary school because there is no need for them to have one, and there are too many negative effects of them having one. This is not just phones though. Many children should be allowed to have certain technologies because they may not understand how to use them properly, and this can cause a problem. Technology can be a good aid for all people of all ages, but there are so many different negatives things that can come from it.
