Waltzing at Midnight
We’re waltzing at midnight
In a marble ballroom
Illuminated by
Candles and a full moon
Your embrace is gentle
One hand encircles mine
The other rests softly
On the small of my spine
Our skin is flushed and warm
Your eyes flash emerald
The green matches my dress
We’re lost in our own world
Your feet glide on the floor
To music so dulcet
Your breath lands on my skin
With each twirl and step
We’re waltzing at midnight
I glance out a window
And catch a reflection
Myself dancing alone
