Are video games good or bad for kids? Video games is a very controversial topic. Many think it is bad for kids and many also think videos games are good for kids. Video games are only bad if you spend a long period of time on them. Although some may disagree, here are 3 reasons why video games are good for kids; your motor skills are increased, vision is improved and decision making skills are also improved.

 It was actually found that videos game can improve your motor skills. From the article “Video games are good for you!” which was written by britishcouncil.org, which is a very reliable source because they conducted intense research into this topic, wrote a very detailed statement in this topic. “A study of surgeons who do microsurgery in Boston found that those who played video games were 27% faster in motor skills. They also made 37% fewer mistakes.” This is very important because this means they will be better at driving thus, causing fewer car crashes.

It was also found that vision is significantly improved. A study from cbsnews.com’s (Which is a very reliable source because they conducted a large research study into this topic) article “Video games can be good for kids, study finds” showed that vision is actually improved. “Vision is also improved, particularly telling the difference between shades of gray. This is useful for driving at night, piloting a plane or reading x-rays.” This is very important because this also can help you at night and thus leading to less crashes and less deaths. If you think about it, thousands of lives could be saved if you played video games.

Finally, video game improve a wide variety of brain functions. People who play action-based games make decisions 25% faster than others and are no less accurate, according to one study. It was also found that the best gamers can make choices and act on them up to 50 times a second, four times faster than most people.” There is no denying that these stark statistics are no fact.

     So, it is no question that video games can be good for you. Even though some may disagree still, the pros far outweigh the cons in this situation. Video games do help kids in several ways and there is no denying that fact. So, if you are a kid then you should play video games.
