Feedback for The Day I Swallowed the Sun by saltyranchers MAG
There is something compelling about the idea that we can touch- that we can taste- the most ethereal, unreachable pieces of the Universe. In saltyranchers' poem, "The Day I Swallowed the Sun", the grand thought of touching the sun's surface became a minimalistic view of the imagination; saltyranchers offers the notion that not only can we find and grab hold of our starry-eyed dreams and wishes, but we can also devour them. Our ability to surmount every obstacle we face is worth tasting the "honey" we may find at the end. Our passion pushes us forward, through broken bones and "shattered lungs", until we are, eventually, bold enough to dine on the flesh of our solar system. I thoroughly enjoyed the raw- but still incredibly elouent- tone of this poem, and eagerly look forward to reading more by this poet.
