Long Distance
In Lily's story "Long Distance", I can relate to her experience in long distant friendships. Growing up as a shy kid I did not have many friends, and the ones I did have were different from me. I had found serenity in social media, but yes "rant about stupid stuff because they have no friends or a therapist" is what emo 13 year olds did - like myself. Through out the young angsty teenage years, I came across many people. As they came and left, I never made a solid friend that I'm still in contact with. The people and experiences whipped me into the person I am today, which is way better than how I used to be. I currently have an internet friend that lives many states away. We talk everydaya and she has become an important person in my life. Reading this article really moved me and I related to most of it, and it's nice to know that you can be friends with anyone and have many connections. Thank you Lily for sharing your story and the beauty of how the internet can bring anyone together.
