Why We Write
I wholeheartedly agree with Frankie M.'s article,"Why We Write." Many people, especially adolesence, just write because they have to so they can raise their grade, or they must pass a district exam. But writing is more than an assignment. To many, writing is an escape. I can relate to the part of the article were it say, "Because if I didn't have a pen in my hand, my feelings would circle my mind until they clawed their hurtful essence into the wall of my brain for good." Not always do we have the opportunity to tell someone that something is hurting us because they wouldn't understand, but in writing, one's feelings can flow onto paper and give a feeling of comfort. Frankie Masi does a wonderfuul job of describing that there is a deeper meaning to writing.
