Response to "My Shining Freshman Moment"
When I saw the title "My Shining Freshman Moment", the last thing that came to my mind was a cheerleading competition. Having the highest grade in the class, or hitting a buzzer beater would have been some guesses of mine. Now, I'm not a big fan of cheerleading, but this article was a great indication of how much harder it is than it looks. The author described all of the thousands of thoughts racing through her head during the event, which I've been through myself. You just want to do everything right because even if you make the slightest mistake, you feel like it ruined the whole performance. She was also very descriptive of her mood, like the nervousness in the beginning, but pride in the end. All in all, it was a really interesting article, and I'd give it two thumbs up.
