Feedback (Steps in the Right Direction)
McLaren S’s nonfiction article, in the October edition of teen ink, titled “Steps in the Right Direction,” shows us what is right with big corporations. While some companies squeeze every last penny out of our piggy banks TOMS does just the opposite.
For every pair of TOMS’ shoes that is purchased they donate a pair to children in need. They call this their “one for one,” philosophy. McLaren states that her shoes have lasted over a year. That durability would be important to a child who just got the one and only pair of shoes they will ever see. The writing pulled me into the story. One of the minor problems was although Mclaren said that the shoes were durable I don’t know what type of shoe they were I don’t know if they are flip flops, boots, sandals, or tennis shoes. Thanks for showing us what is right in the world of big corporations while producing a stupendous article McLaren.
