Plastic Perfection
The article "Plastic Perfection" by Cheryl Gray was a big eye-opener. This article is about the effect that Barbie has on a lot of young girls. Barbie is a doll that most girls get when they are kids. She is a fun toy and she is, although plastic, pretty. Many young girls think of her as more than just a toy, but also a role model, as Cheryl describes in her article. However, not many think of Barbie as a cause for girls' eating disorders and self-esteem issues.
Barbie is a huge influence for young girls. She may just be a toy, but she is still their role model. What the girls don't understand is Barbie isn't real and will be almost impossible to be exactly like her. Barbie is made from plastic and was not modeled from a real person. Barbie may seem like just a harmless toy when they are younger, but a harmful example as girl grow up.
