Feedback on "Buried Alive"
“Buried Alive” by Maren Grunnet was a beautifully written piece that tells of a girl named Iris May. The story takes place in America during an intensively gory war. Iris and the rest of the soldiers that lived in a hug underground bunker had to wait for this war to end. The vivid descriptions used by Maren in this piece made are hauntingly beautiful.
What stood out to me in “Buried Alive” was the very last sentence. “And when I open my eyes again, the first thing my eye caught was alone iris, swaying genially in the breeze.” This line gave Iris hope in further survival, as did it do for me. The lone iris represented strength and courage, and was very inspiring to me and readers alike.
