Response to Quiet Is Okay
In the writing titled “Quiet is Okay” written by Grace B. Her writing about being shy and/or an introvert left me feeling a connection to the story. I can relate to this article and I can see the imagery the author uses. I understand the author’s word choice. She talks about classifying an introvert and describes their characteristics. I relate to this story because growing up I was shy and anti-social. She states, “Rosa Parks, a quiet, unassuming person […] Parks met Martin Luther King who helped raise awareness for civil right together.” Being an introvert, Rosa Parks was quiet, but with the help of Martin Luther they brought attention to the conflict of civil rights. The author also claims, “introverts need some time to refill it.” This quote means that introverts aren’t always talkative and social and the author recognizes this. The author also makes a valid point comparing introverts to cups and how they both a need a fill from time to time.
