I found Emma Honsowetz's article, "Over a Text," very moving and agreeable. Not only did she get right to the point of her stance but included a perfect amount of diction and personal experience. Through these attributes, Honsowetz portrays the pain of being dumped through a text message; something most teenagers can relate to. As a person in a long term relationship I would personally be heartbroken and definitely insecure if my relationship ended through social media or a text message. Honsowetz writes that when you are "going to love somebody, you have a duty to see it through until the end," just as if you committed your time to a sports team, you would continue to do your part till the end of the season.

With the use of pathos, the author creates a highly relatable explanation. We all deserve equal respect as it is, especially when searching for our possible spouse/partners in life. At this age we are all acceptable to mixed emotions and believe it is of most respect to be told "face to face" why the person is feeling the need to break up. It helps us understand what we did wrong and/or even enable us to become a better person. Not only do we have closure but a peace of mind. We should value each other's time as we value our own. Thank you Emma, for speaking what all we (girls and boys) think about when we receive that one text.
