Children of the Concrete Jungle
Oh "Children of the Concrete Jungle" was an amazing poem written about the horrors of police brutality aimed towards children. This issue needs more attention in the media and I was glad to see it addressed in a poem.
The poem reads, "These children- these casualties in a silent war/lost their lives.." This extraordinary piece of writing really hit me deep, making me emotional and invested in an issue I knew nothing or little to nothing about.
This piece made me think about how police brutality, not just aimed at young children, needs to be put to an end rather quickly, and how I want to be a part of it.
