Are We Still Discriminating?
They say in the beginning there were Adam and Eve. Why is this being brought up in debates when there should be a separation of church and state? This is one question that shouldn’t need to be asked. Everyone should be given the equal opportunities as every other citizen without exceptions or circumstances.
Homosexual or not, we should all be able to marry who we love. Many opposing arguments try to bring up the idea that if we allow gay marriages, we can’t stop anyone from marrying anything. Some people are going to the extreme of thinking that people would be allowed to marry animals. However, I don’t think a dog can sign a marriage contract.
It is not a question about what is morally correct; it is a question about love. Homosexuals were created just like every other person, as a human being. This may not sound or look like prejudice, but it is without any doubt discrimination. Gay people should have all the same rights as heterosexuals, including the benefits and responsibilities of marriage.
As quoted from Abraham Lincoln, “those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.”
