Response to "As You Were"
I read the poem, “As You Were” and really understood it and can relate to it. My dad spent some years from the 1980‘s serving in Korea with the US Army, and he’s shown me pictures and told me about what they learned. Some men had lost their wives while overseas and could do nothing about it. Some had been nearly traumatized by what they had seen in the country. I’ve been to Coast Guards in 3 different states, and all of them were very formal. Obviously they took their jobs very seriously. I’m really interested in all the military branches and may consider enlisting in the Air Force or Navy.
