Shadow
“Nothing in the Universe can travel at the speed of light, they say, forgetful of the shadow’s speed.” – Howard Nemerov
What would it mean to be the shadow? Is it filled with hate and envy? To run at the same speed but to only be outshined and the world be oblivious to it? Or will it keeps itself grounded and wise? Waiting for the few who can see the beauty of it and be brighter and out shine the darkness? But with the shadows gone, what will it evolve into then? Is that why it stays hidden and hides in the dark because it’s scared to show its self or show what it might become? Or does it know? Does the shadow stay hidden to let the light shine knowing it will never be seen? Besides, love comes from odd places.
