Gun Violence

Let's talk about gun violence.

For the 16 years that I've lived, I've lived through 6 of the worst mass shootings in the United States.

Virginia Tech, Fort Hood, Pulse, Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, and most recently, Las Vegas.

In 2012, Sandy Hook occured.

I was in the 6th grade.

I went to a extremely small private school where we had no security whatsoever.

After Sandy Hook happened, I became a very anxious little girl.

Since then, I've been much more aware of people and my surrondings.

After living in El Salvador for 3 years, I developed a fear for firearms and weapons.

These massacres have left such a huge impact on my life and I'm tired of it.

I don't want to live in fear.

I don't want to live in danger.

Gun violence is not okay.

Instead of feeding the hungry media with these horrific events, we should be preventing them of happening in the first place.

And if that means reevaluating the 2nd amendment, then so be it.

We as people don't need guns, and you can argue with me on it all you want.

Guns are not the answer, nor violence.
