Treasure of Waukesha County
As you drive down the streets of Waukesha, you can’t help but notice the statues, monuments, and artifacts scattered throughout the city. Everywhere you look, you will find some type of statue or monument remembering someone influential or famous. And many of these statutes are dedicated to a unique and special person born and raised in Waukesha.
Les Paul was born on June 9, 1915 in Waukesha and continued to live there for a good part of his life. He was credited for the creation of the first solid body electric guitar by Gibson and many others after that. His work was inspiring and influential to many and that’s why they created the 10 foot tall statues we see today in Waukesha. Waukesha County is a treasure because of the contributions he made to Gibson and the guitar industry. And his whole life started in beautiful Waukesha County.
These statues are placed in different places all around Waukesha. The statues are a large scale replica of his creation the Les Paul. They are creatively decorated with different designs and colors. All of them are unique in their own way but still have the shape of the famous Les Paul.
Les Paul was an inspiration to Waukesha. His talents were used to make one of a kind guitars. Now people’s dream guitars are represented as 10 feet high statues and scattered all over Waukesha. For Waukesha, there’s no greater way to describe this wonderful city than the statues of a world renowned guitar designer born and raised in the one and only Waukesha County.
