Unspoken battles
The words she speaks to him impale my heart.
Her lips exude the sweet sounds of praises.
I fear he sees her as a work of art.
hypnotized ears delight in her phrases.
I once thought he would gaze at me and smile,
And love my voice just as he loves hers so.
the look I get from him is now just vile.
his eyes are bitter like the coldest snow.
I feel the end of him and me once more,
When memories I loved to begin to blur
More broken, empty, toxic than before.
Sorrow that’s deep within begins to stir.
But as the grief clears from the sky above,
I see there’s more than who I used to love.
