Serene Marsh
What it’s like in the marsh in the morning . The long brown reeds are dusted with a light, cold dusting of frost. There is steam rising from the water in almost an eerie way. Frigidness overwhelms my body. Frigidness overwhelms the marsh. Frigidness consumes anything that touches the water. Even a single finger in the water stung like a bee sting.
You can hear the distant soft honking and bleating of geese, and see the radio tower and powerline lights in the dark background. You could hear a pin drop. Every 10 seconds flashing a different color. You can hear the patter of the ducks wings flying just above the reeds.
It’s the serenity you dream about, it’s so quiet you hear the reeds sway back and forth in the slow North wind. It’s so quiet you can hear the cars drive by 2 miles across the marsh. There is not a more serene place than the marsh in the morning. Then you get to witness the sunset.
The sun rose above the horizon, the first kiss of the day that has yet to come. The sunset had the colors of a lion's mane, reds, yellows and oranges. It was a majestic and glowing sunset, it seemed to light up the sky like a Jack-O-Lantern on Halloween. The sunset was so captivating that it almost made you excited to start off your day in a frigid and wet marsh. But yet there is no better place to be than the marsh in the morning.

I like to waterfowl hunt a significant amount and experiencing those sunsets in the marsh in the morning can change your whole opinion on getting up in the morning.
