Baldurs Gate 3' A World Your's for the Taking
A world of magic, swords, and sorcery all within the palm of your hand to do almost anything you please. The world of Baldur's Gate 3 developed by Larian Studios is a massive turn-based role playing game that took the world by storm upon release leading it to win the Game of The Year Award for 2023. The game's story is tailored to take however long you want it to. Following the fifth edition rules of the Dungeons and Dragons tabletop game, The world of Baldur's gate is packed with story all around the giant map and is left solely to the player and their decisions. Which despite its steep price of $60 to $70 makes Baldur's Gate 3 a must buy game for any fantasy rpg fans who are into huge maps and personally tailored playing experiences.
Baldur's Gate 3 makes the game easily accessible to all with the difficulty option allowing for the use of the pre-made difficulties as well as a custom option so you can personalize you experience more. Speaking from experience, the game is also unintentionally one of the best ways for beginners who are interested in playing dnd to learn how to play properly and efficiently.
The writers for the story of Bg3 packed as much story into the game wherever they could. The writers and developers have stated there are about 17,000 ending variations based on play style and choices. According to howlongtobeat.com the average playthrough of bg3 focusing on the story is 63 hours long however a 100% completion run would be around 153 hours. It's impossible to experience the entire game in one playthrough due to choice story diversion. The more you play the more you make choices affecting the world around you. You can replay the entire game multiple times and have a unique experience each time granted you make different choices than your previous playthrough. If you take the time to experience the game each playthrough and have fun you'll absolutely make the purchase worth it. I personally have completed two different playthroughs totaling me at 173 hours of playtime. Granted I did not reach 100% completion on either run yet the game and still totaled that much.
The average movie ticket is usually around $15 meaning for $70 you can watch about 5 movies in theaters assuming each movie has an hour 30 to 2 hour run time you'd get about eight to ten hours of content. By spending those $60-$70 on Baldur's Gate 3 you'd be getting at least six times more active entertainment than you would if you had spent it on watching movies. So don't watch a movie, become your own main character.
