Don't You Dare
My country is as big as Illinois. My country may not have the Statue of Liberty, yet we have a 5000-year history. My country owns no oil, yet our technology derives that black liquid from the ground in Saudi Arabia. In 1950, our per capita income was 67 dollars – 120th of 229 countries. Twenty years later, our per capita income has grown to 15,000 dollars – 10th of 229 countries – the fastest economic growth in history. So don’t ask me if I am Chinese or Japanese. My name is So Yeon and I’m proud to be Korean.
