My Mom Came Home Late!
“Mom, why are you home so late?”
“I thought I told you to come home at two o’clock” I say.
“Well, sweetie, um I’m sorry but I had to stay until six because Bobby was sick and I had to close the shop up.” My mom said.
“Well you should have called and told me you were going to be late, I am starving.” I said.
“Okay I’ll fix you something to eat.” Good I think as she walks up to her bedroom to go change. How should I punish her? Should I take her cell phone, or prevent her from buying that new purse at Dillard’s she’s been raving about. Yes that’s it I’ll tell her she can’t buy the purse until next week.
“Mom”
“Yes dear”
“Since you didn’t call me to tell me you were coming home late I have decided that you can’t buy the new purse you have been wanting.” I say.
“What, oh no” she says and goes running up to her bedroom wailing.
“That’ll teach her” I quietly say to myself.
“Well I guess I’ll just fix my own self dinner then.”
I decided to let her not buy the purse because she really wanted it. So the next time, she forgets to call she will remember what happened last time.
