My Proudest Moment
It was my last year as a wildcat cheerleader. It was the hardest season i have ever had. After my pre-competition things got harder.
"You have to win at the next competition," my coach yelled.
Finally after a couple months we were off to locals. I was so nervous. Between shaking and jittering my body could not sit still. After 5-6 hours in a sweaty hot gym routine after routine, we were up next. I wanted to run away as far as possible but i stayed.
Then i heard the announcer yell "next up Wildcats!"
Every-one was cheering. I could not look up. Then the music came on and it felt like just another practice. I never missed a beat. Then we got off the floor i was so happy with the performance we gave.
"Good job girls," I heard my coach yell she was crying to.
Then after another few hours we were back on the mats to see if we made it on to the next competition. I was nervous again. The announcer said third place and it was not us. At that moment every-one had given up thinking the year was over.
Then the announcer yelled second place "Wildcats."
Everybody was screaming and crying tears of joy even me.
Then my coach yelled "say cheese."
We all smiled and took the picture with the trophy. This was the proudest moment of my whole life.
