My Name
Kim, Karla, Kori, Kendra, and Keenan. K names are pretty common in my family, so I've always assumed thats was how my parents picked my name. They listed all the K names they liked and chose one. But According to my mom, my name has more meaning than just the letter it starts with.
My dad always wanted his kids to have irish names. Picking an irish name for my brothers wasn't a challenge, but picking an irish name for a girl seemed impossible. After going back and fourth between Savannah and Kylie they finally decided on one, Kylie.
What made them choose Kylie over Savannah? What significance behind the name made it the one for me? Irish, Kylie means beautiful. Like a purple sunset. The Adjective my mother uses to describe me—but not the one I would use to describe myself.
I don't believe your name should only have one meaning. The meaning behind Kylie has always been about how other people portray me as: kind, generous, hardworking, stubborn, outspoken, supportive, quiet, and loud. These are the adjectives I would use to describe myself
This is the kind of person I am. This is what people see when they hear my name.
