Cruise
Cruising along the beautiful, blue sea with my mom and our best friends, Macy and Patrice McGuire We had always talked about wanting to do our own little girls trip. The McGuire boys and my brother would always go on their boy hunting trips, so why not go on our own trip? When we decided we were going on a cruise, Macy and I were ecstatic. We couldn’t wait to do all the fun activities this cruise had in store, but somehow in the 3 day trip, we experienced a bump in the road. When we arrived on the first day, there were four beds. Two that came down from the wall and two that were regular single beds. Three of the beds had normal mattresses, but one of the beds on the walls had this odd sponge material. Obviously, Macy wanted that bed but Patrice was not too thrilled about it. So when Patrice called the front desk to have someone come switch the mattress out, Macy had a fit for about 20 minutes until we got her distracted with something else. Little did we know, that wouldn't be the last time we saw this sponge mattress. On day 2 of our excursion, we arrived in the Bahamas and we spent all of our time swimming in the ocean, snorkeling, etc. When it was time to go to bed, we were all exhausted and we fell asleep instantly. 3 am rolled around and I am awoken by a distraught Macy. After about 5 minutes of trying to comprehend what was going on I realized that she had gotten sicker than a dog in the middle of the night and had thrown up all overself and in her bed. We had to call the front desk for new sheets and a new mattress. While Macy was cleaning herself up while still crying, someone knocked on the door with her new mattress and sheets. They had brought back the sponge mattress. When Mercy walked out of the bathroom to go back to bed, she saw the sponge mattress and immediately stopped crying and somehow felt significantly better than she had 10 minutes ago. To this day, I will never know how a mattress can bring so much joy to a person
