The Absolute Best Dark Chocolate Chip Pancakes
The absolute best dark chocolate chip pancakes in the world were on the menu for breakfast this morning. It all started with the thick, rich, chocolatey batter that began to come together when the mix and milk were combined. I heated the pan and slapped a pad of butter into it and watched it melt and the sizzling sound got me feeling some kinda way. I mixed and mixed and mixed the batter frenetically until the batter was silky smooth and had the perfect viscosity for making the best pancakes. I watched the batter drizzle into the pan and spread around like a droplet of water falling into a lake. As I poured more batter into the pan, the two pancakes became contiguous together and conjoined as one. The bubbles began to form on top and it was time to flip them and see the beautiful, lightly done alternate side of the pancake– my stomach began to say to me ‘LET ME EAT IT NOW!’. The pancakes were finished at last, perfectly fluffy and puffy and all. The strawberries were warm and so juicy; I could just imagine the taste of them as I began to get more and more hungry. I warmed the chocolate syrup to top the pancakes with. As that microwave displayed the ‘END’ message on the tiny screen, my heart became happy and the smell overwhelmed me with joy. The warm syrup brought me back to those movie nights with my family where we would eat fudge sauce on vanilla ice cream. The pouring of the sloshy strawberries mixed with the drizzle of the warm, comforting chocolate syrup made me smile and my eyes widened and turned into hearts because of what I was seeing. This could turn any regular old morning into a morning full of comfort with the food whispering, ‘it is all gonna be okay’. The final product was heaven on earth and a huge party in my mouth where all flavors had been invited. The flavors of the chocolate fluffy pancakes mixed with the chocolate syrup and the juicy strawberries correlated impeccably together– there was a party in my mouth after that first bite. It all finally accumulated and the flavors slapped me right in the mouth and the wait was suddenly all worth it. Every time I took a bite, it was just as good as the first.
