My driving experience

Since I was 5 years old, everytime I could, I sat on my dad's lap to learn how to drive a car. He put the seatbelt on and prayed so I didn't crash. Because of my little age, I could not control the pedals, so my dad controlled the pedals making it easier to drive. This wasn't something new for my dad, because driving at such a young age was too common in my dad's family. He drove manual cars since he was 10 years old like it was nothing, motivating me to follow his steps and drive as a kid. Since that day, I always wanted to turn 18 to legally drive a car everyday like my father.

For my young age, driving isin`t common and ilegal, but my dad thought it was time to prepare me to drive, making me drive by controlling the pedals all by myself. I sat in the car and started moving. At first it seemed really easy, but things were getting complicated. I didn't want to crash the car, so I was getting more nervous. Thankfully I did`t crash. Of Course my driving   skills weren't good for what I needed to do, this was normal for a first time driver. Truly I did`t drive like a vettel but for sure I didn't drive that bad, probably because I used to drive a blue go-kart at my dad's work. Of Course I did`t drive in places with a lot of cars, so I drove in the zone where I live, making it easier to learn. Then when I turned 13, my dad took me to drive on the highway, a decision that could cause something bad, because I was very nervous and due to that, I almost crashed the car. I enjoyed the moment, but I was driving so badly that my mom had her eyes closed.

Now that I am 14, I drive more frequently. Sometimes, my dad tells me to drive him somewhere. I have been doing that for almost 4 months and have been saying something, but there was one day that I made a mistake that made me not want to drive for a time. I was driving peacefully to my house from church and I came across a traffic light that seemed to be green, but lucky for me, I pushed the accelerator so the red light didn't catch me and just when I started accelerating, the light turned yellow .

-STOP STOP! said my dad, really angry.  Because I didn't understand why I looked around to see why he was asking me to stop. but then he said it again and I didn't. Then with his angry loud voice he corrected me.

- You can’t pass the light in red you dummy

At that moment, I felt that I was doing everything wrong, everything was a disaster, but I calmed down and  finally arrived home to talk about my mistake that happened.

Driving is difficult, but has been my passion since the first time driving, now it has taught me to be more observant in life. Driving has helped me a lot to prepare myself for my future and has helped my dad to rest and stop driving for a moment. I am very happy with my process and I hope one day I can be a great driver.
