Loud, amazing music. Colorful stage clothes. Trumpets blaring over. Screams every direction. He comes on. Living a daydream. Feeling so golden. I don’t remember. Best night ever.

Anticipation was keeping me awake weeks before. I was as excited as a kindergartener on their first day of school. When the day finally came, I held back tears of joy realizing that I was about to see my childhood idol.

When I arrived, I remember lines wrapping around the building with fans from all over the country. I remember loud music filling the merchandise area. I remember squealing to the sound of Harry’s voice as it came over the loudspeaker. I remember walking to my seat with the biggest smile on my face. I remember this being the best night of my life…and it hasn’t even begun.

The concert introduction began to play. Fans were on their feet jumping like frogs. Harry entered the arena. I felt as if the whole stage was dancing. So much energy and excitement that I wouldn’t trade for anything. The bright, illuminating lights paired perfectly with the angelic sound of his voice. I was stunted to say the least.

The concert continued with tears of sadness and screams of excitement. “How are we doing tonight, Chicago?” Harry shouted into the microphone. Roaring exhilaration came from multiple directions of the arena. Feathers from boas flew off as everyone was dancing to the upbeat sounds of “Daydream,” “Cinema,” and “Kiwi.” As each song that came to an end, I grasp the fact that the best night of my life is ending soon.

During the final song, a small tear rolled down my cheek when I realized I may never see him again. I looked like a loving lady who just had her heart broken. He ran off stage. My mouth was wide open. Not being able to process what just happened, I tried my best to relive the concert in my head. I walked out of the arena with a subtle raspy voice to prove that I couldn’t stop screaming.

The best night of my life came to an end. With no regrets, I was the happiest person alive. Looking out the window on the car ride home, I remember the whimsical and fun Harry Styles singing his heart out on stage. After the eventful night, I can’t confidently say that it was in fact the best night of my life.

I chose to write my quick write about Harry Styles because I believed that it would be the easiest to extend on. The literary devices I used in my piece were similes, personification, alliteration, imagery, and anaphora. I decided to use these, especially figurative language, because they would help the reader really picture what being at a Harry Styles concert would be like. In my piece, I really liked how I was able to easily explain my experience with adding stylistic devices. If I had more time, I would definitely add more descriptive details and possibly put more details for each song I heard.
