That Summer Feeling
That summer feeling. My favorite season is summer, I love feeling the sun beating down on me. I love looking at the blue sky and seeing the clouds crawl around. All I hear is the birds chirping and the wind whistling while I am sitting in the sun.
That summer feeling. I have many options that I can do outside, including my favorite one: basketball. I love being able to hear the net as the ball goes straight through the net. My friends and I are always very competitive when we play against each other and the loser always buys lunch.
That summer feeling. I always feel relaxed. I never have to worry about studying for a test or doing homework. I have all the time in the world to do what I love. Every time I look outside at the lake I see millions of boats with people having a good time. I always take the jetski out and swerve my way through the crowd as I try not to fall off. I blast my music loud enough for the world to hear it while riding through the waves.
That summer feeling. Hearing the food sizzle on the grill while relaxing outside makes my stomach growl. My family plays cornhole while letting the food cook. Everyone roots for each other until we are toward the end of the game. We are competitive as it gets because we are each trying to earn bragging rights. After playing cornhole, it's time for dinner. Steak and shrimp are some of my favorite meals to eat while the day is winding down. The steak is as soft as butter and melts in my mouth.
That summer feeling. Watching the sunset as I am finishing up dinner. Now it’s time for game night. We decide to play clue; a family favorite. We pull out the game and everyone chooses their color. The game is a murder mystery game and the goal is to find out who the murder was and where it occurred. This is a fun game because there is a lot of thinking and strategizing in the game. You always have to be listening because what other people say can give you clues to who the killer is. I was able to win again; the third straight time. My sister was mad because she was close to finding out but she wasn’t done yet. She throws her pin across the room, snap! The pin breaks, luckily we have extra, so no one is mad,
I go up to my room because it’s late and I am tired. I play some Fortnite with my friends for a little while and win a game. Time for bed. I lay down and reflect on my amazing day. Nothing is better than that summer feeling.
