Tranquility
For the first time in days a cool breeze blows through the otherwise warm air. Golden leaves flutter to the ground as tall oak trees sway, eager to rid themselves of their foliage. The sound of leaves rustling, still green and healthy as they cling to the trees surrounding me, fill my soul with a sense of belonging. Emerald-green grass, lush and happy from yesterday’s rainfall, proudly covers the damp ground. Birds chirp merrily and squirrels chatter loudly in the distance. Acorns fall heavily to the ground as if they have been thrown down by squirrels in an act of war. Nevertheless, the air is drowned in the fragrance of tranquility.
