Magic in a Moment
So.. my first real, serious kiss. It was - in a nutshell - astronomically indescribable. It was a summer's night, and the guy was tall, muscular, with golden-blonde hair and depends-on-his-shirt-colored eyes. We'd been informally together for a while, probably a month and a half. My family loved him to death, which was completely perfect. So we were in my room, with only this string of Christmas lights on around the head of my bed. We were watching some movie - which always translated into joking around and making fun of each other. He made a joke, and I pretended to be offended, turning my head away. He pulled me back toward him, putting his face close to mine, almost kissing me. I pulled back, however, because I'd told him that I didn't kiss unless I was dating the guy first. He'd been trying to dissuade me from this resolve pretty much from the beginning, and it was getting harder and harder to keep it up. But this time, he pulled back also, looking at me, seeming almost amused. He said, jokingly pleading, "Not even now? Even though you trust me?" I laughed a little and shook my head, looking down, knowing his gorgeous eyes would destroy my will in moments. He chuckled and began his usual attempts to get me to kiss him. I didn't speak much, mostly laughed slightly at certain comments and looked away bashfully. After a few minutes, he shifted slightly so that he was leaning partly on top of me, his face very close to mine. I felt my heart jump from second gear into fifth, leaving me speechless and, well... pretty thoughtless. He leaned slightly closer, his mouth close to my ear, and breathed, "Please... you trust me." I took a soft, sharp breath in, trying to think enough to form a response. I pulled back again, but just enough to whisper, "I guess... it couldn't hurt." He looked at me as if you confirm, and I smiled slightly. Then, he leaned down very close, almost on top of me completely, pressing me back into the pillows and mattress. One arm was wrapped around me, and his other hand rested lightly but warmly on my waist. His nose touched mine and I closed my eyes. Before I knew it, his lips met mine, and my heart kicked into one-hundredth gear. His kiss was warm and soft, slow and sweet, magical and unforgettable. In that moment, I began to fall in love.
