Play Day with Dad
The contradicting feeling of the cold water drops and the warm touch of the sun left me feeling in place. Walking through the plush grass and feeling every blade gliding through my toes tickled me to laughter. Seeing me here you can tell I’m happy. I find myself walking back and forth following the water. I don’t want it to leave, but the weight of my diaper is holding me back. I don’t let this stop me because I’m determined and the sun is hot without the refreshing water. I pace along the sprinkler locked on the water more focused than a predator on its prey, but a loud laughter distracts me and my swift turn out of curiosity kicks me down clumsily to the floor. Although it may hurt I don’t let this stop me from figuring out what’s going on. I watch him laugh harder as he steps closer. Each step he looks taller and more detailed. His messy brown hair proving he just woke up from a nap lets me know he has lots of energy. Now standing right in front of me, like a giant casting a shadow over me I see him, with the sun bursting behind him making him look god like. Just as the contrasting light starts to balance I see him more clearly. His huge smile shows me his passion and his hint of wrinkles reminds me of my ignorance. So young and ready to play and by the site of his teal green swim trucks I could tell he was ready to. I let out a loud screech of excitement as he reaches to pick me up. With his help I stand up and begin my quest again. Following the water alongside my dad, I would give anything to do that again.
