It's been 4 years since the third grade. Since the talent show. Since my performance of that poem Shel Silverstein wrote. I remember that most of the participants were singing songs, so I stopped paying attention after awhile. I remember one song, but I only remember one line. "I closed my eyes and slept." Every time I think about it a chill goes down my spine. A longing chill for life back then. Before my problems got worse. Before my father got in a fight with a close friend of his. Back when life was simple. I wish I knew where to find that song. But I can't.
