Before I dive
One step. Two. Now I’m on the block. It’s surface is rough, allowing my feet to grip. Roughly four feet below me sits the water, awaiting my entrance. It sits still in the eyes of others, but is rapid in mine. I hear the official and bend over to get ready for the biggest showdown of my life. To my right sits Abby– my biggest competitor. She's muscular, determined, and prepared. However, there is no time to be scared. I will not let her win. I take one last breath before I go.
