That Basketball Kid

As he runs down the court,
The basketball touching his fingertips,
The echoing of sneaker screeches,
The crowd going wild,
He gets under the net,
Tosses to his team mate,
Yells,"pass it back".
Throws it towards the net,
Two bounces on the rim,
Only three seconds left,
The game's tied.
Those two bounces took forever.
The ball goes in,
As he falls to his knees.
They've won the game.
He will forever be,
That basketball kid.
