I believe that America is a beacon of hope, opportunity, and a chance to start a new life. I think that most people who come here are trying to find new opportunities. Whether it be trying to escape persecution, or trying to provide for themselves or a family, ever since the first ship load of people arrived in America, people from all over the world have seen this place as a symbol of hope and a promise of a fresh start. Even through our good intentions, however, there are always people that don’t agree with what our goal as a country is. Through all that this country has been through, America has stuck together.
