FIVE WAYS OF LOOKING AT A LIFE
FIVE WAYS OF LOOKING AT A LIFE
1.I will find the answer to life. I will discover why everybody is on this planet. I will find each and every person’s purpose. I know we all have one. There would be no point in having over a billion people on earth if none of them had a purpose. Why does each person look the way they do, and talk like they talk? There is a reason. I know it, I can feel it. Questions like these are what keep me going. They make me feel alive; they bring a sense of adventure to a usually ordinary day. These questions that my mind comes up with are what set me apart from everyone else.
2.The human brain. I gotta love it. Without my brain I would have absolutely nothing going for me. Everyone always says to me, “Oh Danielle, such a philosopher” I hate the word philosopher. It makes me think of a bunch of old guys with long scraggly beards sitting around a table and talking about gravity. The image gives me shudders. I like to think of myself more as …. An adventurer or someone who always wants to explore and go deeper into the ideas she has.
3.Beautiful! When kids my age hear the word they think of luscious lips and long blond hair. Of course I have neither of those things. Some might describe me as plain. The meaner ones might shoot for a word like ugly. Ever heard that one before? I didn’t think so, I seem to be the only girl in the school that doesn’t care about makeup and walks around always showing her true self. Clearly, I’ve done this to myself, I could easily throw on some lip gloss, and hide behind an overconfident mask, but I don’t. Call me crazy but I kind of like being the odd one out. The only unique one in the whole school. It makes me feel special.
4.I’m thinking about things a lot lately. Not that I don’t usually. This time it’s different though. In elementary school and middle school, I thought I knew why I was on earth. It was because of my old soul. I was always bringing new unexplored subjects into the classroom. Ideas that even shocked the teacher. I can’t blame them though; I mean can you even imagine hearing a five year old talking about how the universe never ends? Well anyways ever since I got into high school I have been questioning the real reason why I was placed on our round, round world.
5.I’m not complaining. In fact, now that I realized I don’t have everything figured out, I have been getting deeper into the “philosophy of life” I have my own theory though, one that I have tried over and over again, through all the years in high school. And so far it has worked. Be yourself. As long as you are optimistic, and don’t care what other people think about you, you should be fine. You have to be strong. You can’t get consumed by caring about your appearance. Hold your ground, and always let your true colors show. Even if it means you’re the only one still standing
