Is #BlackLivesMatter Problematic?
The simple answer is no.
The extended answer is for SOME reason, whenever black people want to draw attention to OUR people’s lives being taken prematurely EVERY other race seems to have an issue with it.
"Um, actually #AllLivesMatter."
Yeah. Duh. Where in the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter do you see the word "only"? Don't worry I'll wait.
It’s crazy the amount of backlash came from simply saying black lives matter. It’d be different if the hashtag was #OnlyBlackLivesMatter but it’s not so people really need to stop with that.
What does it say about our society (specifically America) that black people literally saying that our lives matter causes so much outrage?
This brings up an even bigger question, when have black lives ever REALLY mattered in America? *cough* *cough* NEVER *cough*.
