Why Pursue Revenge?
To have pride... the desire to have the last word and leave satisfied... the feeling of superiority. When someone has been hurt, pride steps up and gives him a band-aid and a rage. A rage that has the potential to take him to victory... sweet revenge... "He's gonna pay for this..." Suddenly, a cool flow of humility offers peace. Which one? The powerful roar of revenge promises power, relief, and confidence; the soothing note of forgiveness whispers of love, healing, and kindness. Does it take more courage to forgive than to teach a lesson? Yes, as it takes more courage to have surgery than to put a band-aid on a serious injury. If you are hurt, go into surgery; you will come out stronger than pride could ever make you feel.
