"Welcome to the South Side."
I'm doing a project and I'm taking pictures of the destruction in my city I think I might make it into a portfolio called; "Abandoned, Rundown, Trashy Vacancies." For a while we've been in a drought and have had high temperature weather for the past month in a half. Recently we've been having a series of short storms with super heavy winds that struck down trees, blew over big trucks and cars, and destroyed power lines. We like to call these storms, "mini-hurricanes". 80,000 people without power for maybe a week or more some were lucky and only had to wait a couple days. Trees cover our streets and the city hasn't done much to clean it up. So this has somewhat inspired me to go around taking pictures of the people and buildings that are what society has dubbed to be; "Trash".
