Firestone
I believe the most creative and thought provoking photographs deliberately obscure the subject. These photographs actively try to omit obvious clues or hints that would lead an observer to the subject. When we photograph a part without the whole, we can see the beauty and the intricacies and the eccentricities of everyday life usually overshadowed by the whole. Case in point: the Car overshadows the tire, and the tire overshadows the tread. The tread, however, taken alone, stands as art.
