The Small Child

The child sits staring at the stairs,
Yearning for someone to come and get him.
His parent’s to come and swoop him up in their arms.
He sits staring at the door,
Waiting,
And waiting,
And waiting.
Then never come.
He sits down and starts to bawl.
Still waiting.
