Whisper to me your secrets, people in the paintings.
How does your beauty never fade?
Time passes for me, but the clock stopped for you.
Is that why you smile, people in the paintings?
Is that why I can hear you laugh?
My beauty is not preserved in ink and oil.
Women must be thinner and darker
Men must be bulkier and broader
With every passing day.
But you need not worry.
Your skin is pale, your rolls do show
You lie naked with no shame
Is that why you smile, people in the paintings?
