A Hundred and Fifty-Five Pages
My biggest inspiration did not come from the world around
It did not walk a thousand miles, save people, or wear a crown
It came from words printed on a hundred and fifty-five pages of lessons and laughter
That comforted me through childhood and became inspiration after
My mind now whirls on the computer and paper in the middle of the night
As new ideas and dreams begin to take flight
The lessons it taught in my life was for my heart to stay pure
To always try again and to never give up, even if I am unsure
That even if they seem unwilling, people can always change and learn
And no matter the situation the other cheek I can always turn
What taught me this wasn’t a parent, president, or something that can last the ages
It was words printed on a hundred and fifty-five pages

This is probably my favorite of all the poems I've written. I wrote it right after I read an old childhood book that still gives me a warm happy feeling inside. As you can see I try to reflect the feeling it gives me in the poem.
