Thank You
Normandy was through.
The beaches cried blood instead of waves,
The sand became a body of pure flesh.
I slowed on the boardwalk.
Thinking of the men.
The men that had lost their lives.
The men that were piled in places
Because they fought for me.
The men that cared so deeply about their country
And their loved ones.
I thought.
As I walked the beach of lost souls,
Staring into the blood- soaked sea,
I thanked them.
