Repetition
Alarm beeps once
Twice
Three times.
I hit snooze.
I roll out of bed.
I pull clothes on,
stumble to my desk.
I open up the laptop,
prep my smile.
Talk, type, repeat.
Repeat.
Everyday the same.
I wonder how kids are thriving.
How their grades are improving,
when I feel suffocated by the sameness that is each day.
Close the computer, breathe fresh air.
Tired but not from lack of sleep.
Homework- read, type, repeat.
Finally, sleep again.
Maybe a chance at a new day,
Until-
Alarm beeps once
Twice
Three times

This is a Zeitgeist written about what I struggled the most with recently, the constant feeling that each day is the same. I hope this poem speaks to many who are feeling just as I am, especially the teens.
