my perfect little graham cracker
My family fit together at some point
we were this perfect golden graham cracker
With tiny circles in order to eliminate expansion
And prevent bubbling over
But it didn't work
we are no longer we broke
Split in two halfs
They aren't perfect, the corners are a little rounded and the edges slightly cracked
Communication lost while others move away
They break and they don't fit back together
Not all break some stay, but not mine
They might come back but only t e m p o r a r i l y
But the thing about this golden cracker
It was only ever mediocre by itself
Some say if you add things it can create a more beautiful whole
The new people come into our lives not to replace,
just to fill in, they are the new and I can resent them
But only for so long until im tired
And even when I am I try
if I have to drive myself in to madness
I will
I would not like to except them
An overly sweet cylinder and a tiny bittersweet rectangle
you have something you don't always love it but it's there
and this is the new normal
It isn't an exact science but it
makes others happy so
you allow it
