Natural Wonders
The tall Sunflowers reach the sky, trying to please the Gods.
So tall and so close together, under the flowers is a shady spot just to sit and do nothing.
The corn reached the heavens as well and as the sun hit the fresh corn popping out of their stalks, they sent a wave of gold through the shadows.
A child sits under the flowers and lets the breeze blow around it.
The child smiles at the sky and lays back and dreams, dreams of the endless sky and endless rows of sunflowers and corn.
And as the child starts to dream, a Blue jay lands frighteningly close.
A squirrel scampers through the stalks.
A scarecrow sits and watches over the child as it dreams.
And the sky grows a smiling face made of soft fluffy cloud as it stares down upon the sleeping child.
And as long as a child believes in the natural wonders, there will always be natural wonders that never stop to amaze.
